Rose
Constant urine and stool leakage left her psychologically traumatized and isolated from her family. She became withdrawn, angry, and uncooperative.
She heard a radio announcement about fistula treatment and noted the contact details. She reached a community mobilizer who helped arrange her transportation to the Surgical Center for treatment.
“My life has changed. I am very happy and want to learn tailoring so I can earn an income. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and Fistula Foundation for the care and support I received.”
Sarah
After giving birth to a very large baby, she suffered a severe perineal tear that left her with ongoing stool leakage. Unable to afford the cost of surgery, she lived with the condition for years, which caused deep emotional distress.
She eventually found access to treatment through the programme and received the surgery she could not previously afford.
“I am very happy and relieved to be free from stool leakage, daily medication, and padding. I can now socialize, enjoy life with my partner, and return to my vegetable business.”
